The 32nd Annual Panama City Beach Scottish Festival Returns March 6–7, 2026 |
Panama City Beach is gearing up for one of its most colorful and culturally rich weekends of the year as the Celtic Heritage Alliance proudly presents the 32nd Annual Panama City Beach Scottish Festival. What began more than three decades ago on the grounds of Grace Presbyterian Church has grown into the largest and longest‑running Scottish festival in the Florida Panhandle, drawing visitors from across the country, and even across the Atlantic, to celebrate tradition, music, athletics, and community.
Set against the backdrop of the Gulf’s sparkling coastline, the festival transforms Frank Brown Park into a lively village of tartans, pipes, dancing, and family fun. Whether you’re a longtime attendee or a first‑time visitor, this two‑day celebration offers an unforgettable blend of Scottish heritage and coastal charm.
🎶 Music, Marching, and the Magic of the HighlandsFrom the moment you step through the gates, the unmistakable sound of bagpipes and drums fills the air. Top‑tier Celtic and folk musicians take the stage throughout the weekend, creating a soundtrack that moves from stirring and traditional to upbeat and modern. Scottish dancers bring centuries‑old steps to life, while cultural demonstrations and educational talks offer a deeper look into the customs that shaped Scotland’s identity.
Visitors can stroll through rows of artisan vendors offering handmade crafts, tartan apparel, jewelry, décor, and festival favorites. Delicious food, from hearty Scottish fare to coastal treats, keeps the energy high and the crowds happy.
🛡️ Highland Games: Strength, Skill, and Scottish PrideA highlight every year, the Highland Games bring athletes from across the region to compete in iconic events like the caber toss, hammer throw, and stone put. These competitions honor ancient Scottish traditions and showcase incredible strength and technique. Spectators line the field to cheer on competitors as they push for personal bests and celebrate the camaraderie that defines the Highland spirit.

Fun Facts:🎵 Bagpipes Carry for MilesBagpipes are famously loud, often reaching 100+ decibels, which is why you can usually hear the festival’s pipe bands long before you reach the gate. Many locals say the sound drifting across Frank Brown Park is their favorite sign that festival weekend has arrived.
🛡️ The Highland Games Are Older Than Most CountriesEvents like the caber toss and hammer throw trace back over 1,000 years to early Scottish clan gatherings. The modern festival keeps these ancient athletic traditions alive, and many competitors train year‑round just for PCB’s games.
🥃 Whisky Tasting Sells Out Every YearThe festival’s Premium Single Malt Scotch tastings are so popular that all three sessions sold out last year before the gates even opened. With only 30 seats per tasting, it’s one of the most exclusive, and flavorful, experiences of the weekend.
