Panama City Comedy Brings a Weekend of Laughs to Bay County |
From a free open mic in St. Andrews to live stand-up at Pier Park and musical comedy in Downtown Panama City, there are plenty of chances to laugh this week. |

If you could use a few laughs this week, Panama City Comedy has you covered.
The local comedy organization is filling Bay County with live comedy, beginning with its weekly Comedy Open Mic at St. Andy's Sports Pub and continuing with back-to-back shows Friday and Saturday night at Dick's Last Resort in Panama City Beach and Mosey's Downtown in Historic Downtown Panama City.
Panama City Comedy, owned by local comedian and producer Jason Hedden, produces more than 50 comedy shows each year and has helped bring touring comedians and live stand-up to venues throughout the area.
Here's what's coming up.
Comedy Open Mic at St. Andy's Sports Pub
Want to watch local comedians test out new material, or think you have what it takes to grab the microphone yourself?
Panama City Comedy's weekly Comedy Open Mic takes place every Wednesday at St. Andy's Sports Pub in Historic St. Andrews. The open mic is open to performers of all experience levels and is hosted by Malcolm Xavier. Comics can sign up in person beginning at 7:30 p.m., with comedy starting at 8 p.m. Admission is free. Experienced comics can send video, bio, headshot and availability to [email protected]
Comedy Open Mic
When: Aug 12th
Can't make it this week? The Panama City Comedy calendar also lists open mics at St. Andy's Every Wednesday beginning at 8 p.m.
Friday Night Comedy at Dick's Last Resort
Friday night, Panama City Comedy heads across the Hathaway Bridge to Dick's Last Resort at Pier Park for an evening of regional stand-up comedy.
The August 14 show features Natalie Lovejoy, JP Leonard, Josh Watts and Tyler Arceneaux. The show is rated R for adult content, and Dick's will have its full food and drink menu available.
Date: Friday, August 14, 2026
If you enjoy your comedy a little uncensored, this could be a fun way to start the weekend in Pier Park.
Saturday: Good Cop / Rad Cop Takes Over Mosey's Downtown
Saturday night brings something a little different. Panama City Comedy welcomes Good Cop / Rad Cop to Mosey's Downtown in Historic Downtown Panama City.
The Atlanta-based duo of Dave Hannah and Ryan Darling blends stand-up, music and rapid-fire banter using everything from a guitar and kazoo to a crowd-working robot. Panama City Comedy describes the pair as a high-energy musical comedy act influenced by punk and country music.
Good Cop / Rad Cop made their television debut in 2026 on Netflix's Star Search and have appeared at the Netflix Is a Joke Comedy Festival and Moontower Comedy Festival. They've also toured with punk band Dropkick Murphys.
Opening the evening will be JP Leonard, Josh Watts and Tyler Arceneaux.
Date: Saturday, August 15, 2026 Ages: 18+
Mosey's full food and bar menu will also be available during the show, making it an easy combination of dinner, drinks and comedy in Downtown Panama City.
Building a Local Comedy Scene
One of the interesting things about Panama City Comedy is that it doesn't rely on a traditional standalone comedy club.
Instead, the organization partners with restaurants, pubs, theaters and other venues around Bay County and Northwest Florida to bring live comedy directly into the community. Hedden has previously described that approach as a way of growing a comedy scene in an area without a dedicated comedy club.
That means comedy fans can catch everything from new local performers testing jokes at a neighborhood pub to nationally and regionally touring comedians appearing at established local venues.
And this week offers a perfect example: three nights, three different venues and three very different comedy experiences.
Whether you want to discover the next funny local at St. Andy's, enjoy a Friday night of stand-up at Pier Park or catch the musical chaos of Good Cop / Rad Cop at Mosey's, Panama City Comedy is giving Bay County plenty to laugh about.

Got my eye on that Friday show. Who’s bringing snacks?
Happy to see comedy scene growing in our area. It was overdue!
Probably going to the one at Dick’s. Don’t want to get roasted though!
Mosey’s pizza plus comedy, can’t beat it.
Netflix Star Search? That’s pretty major for Good Cop / Rad Cop.
Do open mic comics have to sign up way in advance, or can you just show up?
Comedy in St. Andrews every week? Didn’t know, but I’m interested!
Curious how wild the Dick’s Last Resort show will get. Their servers alone are a riot.
Good to see local talent getting a spotlight.
Pier Park always has something going on. Comedy night is a nice change of pace from karaoke.
I wish they’d do something like this north of the beach too.
Whoever is running Panama City Comedy is killing it lately.
JP Leonard is so funny, saw him in New Orleans once.
I remember when Mosey's just did live music. Comedy seems like a great fit though.
Not sure about rated R shows but happy for options.
Will there be any meet-and-greet after the shows?
Pier Park needs more comedy nights, honestly.
Awesome way to liven up our local spots without a club. Props to Jason Hedden for making it work.
Love seeing different restaurants come together for community events like this.
Anybody taken the stage at St. Andy’s? Thinking about signing up.
Wish there was more parking around downtown for these events.
Is the open mic really free? Might drag my friends along.
Didn’t realize we got touring acts coming all the way to Bay County!
Appreciate the free open mic nights. Makes it easy to check out.
Do I need to get tickets in advance for Mosey’s or can I just walk in?
So cool that these guys played at the Netflix festival. Big deal for Panama City!
Is it weird I’m more excited for the kazoo act than the stand-up?
Glad to see Panama City Comedy supporting local performers.
Saw Panama City Comedy at Haney's last year. Still remember one of the jokes!
Heard Josh Watts before, dude is hilarious.
Mosey’s is such a fun spot for shows. Grab a slice and a laugh.
Not a fan of adult-only shows tbh. Would love some clean comedy too.
I went to an open mic once, the comics were actually really good.
Never heard of these comics before, but I’m down to discover someone new.
Never tried Mosey’s food but might go for the comedy on Saturday.
Comedy at Dick’s Last Resort is always a blast. Worth checking out!
Appreciate that everything isn’t crammed into one venue. Keeps it interesting!
Got tickets for Friday! Ready to unwind with some laughs.
Wish some shows were all ages so my teens could go.
St. Andy’s is the best spot for open mic, excited to see new talent.
Never heard of Good Cop Rad Cop but that sounds wild.
$20 for a night out isn’t bad at all.
Always fun to see more comedy options around here!
Love that new comedians can just show up and try their jokes at open mic.
Kind of wish these weren’t all 18+. My teens love stand-up too!
$20 for a Friday night show at Dick's is a solid deal.
I've seen Malcolm Xavier host before, he's hilarious!
Good Cop / Rad Cop sounds wild. Never heard of a comedy duo with a robot before.
Glad to see stuff going on in downtown again.
Comedy at St. Andy's is always a good time.
