If you’re looking for a relaxed way to spend a Saturday morning in Panama City, The Market at St. Andrews is one of those local traditions worth adding to your weekend routine.

Held year-round at beautiful Oaks by the Bay Park, the community market brings together local growers, food producers, artists, makers and shoppers every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Located in the heart of Historic St. Andrews, the market combines shopping local with one of Panama City’s most scenic waterfront settings.

What You’ll Find at The Market

The Market at St. Andrews emphasizes products that are locally grown, made or created. According to Historic St. Andrews, the market focuses primarily on agricultural products, food items, arts and crafts, rather than resale merchandise.

Depending on the week and season, shoppers may find:

  • Fresh fruits and vegetables

  • Local honey

  • Sauces, seasonings and specialty foods

  • Baked goods and other treats

  • Handmade jewelry

  • Woodworking and handcrafted décor

  • Art from local creators

  • Unique gifts and artisan products

That changing vendor mix is part of the appeal, you never know exactly what you may discover from one Saturday to the next.

Live Music Adds to the Saturday Atmosphere

Some market Saturdays also feature live music from area performers. When musicians are scheduled, performances generally begin around 10:00 a.m. and are weather dependent.

With vendors spread beneath the trees and St. Andrews Bay nearby, the setting feels more like a neighborhood gathering than a traditional shopping trip.

A Market With More Than 20 Years of History

The Market at St. Andrews has deep roots in the community.

It began in 2004 as the St. Andrews Waterfront Farmers Market at St. Andrews Marina. The market was originally created as both a community activity and an economic-development opportunity, giving local merchants and small businesses a place to sell directly to customers.

As the market grew, it expanded onto the Yacht Basin boardwalk in 2011. In 2019, it officially became known as The Market at St. Andrews, and in May 2022, it moved to its current home at Oaks by the Bay Park.

Today, it continues that same mission of supporting small businesses while providing a weekly gathering place for the community.

Enjoy Oaks by the Bay While You’re There

Part of what makes this market special is its location.

Oaks by the Bay Park sits at Beck Avenue and West 10th Street along St. Andrews Bay. The park includes open green space, waterfront access, a boardwalk, historic features and impressive old live oak trees.

One of its best-known landmarks is the Old Sentry, a heritage live oak estimated to have sprouted nearly 100 years before Florida became a U.S. territory in 1821. Visitors can also find a small bayside beach, benches, walking areas and views across St. Andrews Bay.

That makes it easy to turn a trip to the market into a leisurely morning by the water.

Make a Morning of Historic St. Andrews

After visiting the market, consider spending some extra time exploring the neighborhood.

Historic St. Andrews is one of Panama City’s most walkable waterfront districts, with locally owned restaurants, shops and attractions concentrated around Beck Avenue and the surrounding streets.

Grab breakfast or lunch, browse the nearby shops, walk along the waterfront or simply enjoy the view of St. Andrews Bay.

It’s an easy way to support several local businesses during the same Saturday outing.

The Market at St. Andrews Details

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Shop Local on Saturday

Whether you’re searching for fresh produce, something handmade, a locally produced treat or simply somewhere enjoyable to spend a Saturday morning, The Market at St. Andrews offers a little bit of everything with a distinctly local feel.

Come for the market, take a walk beneath the oaks, enjoy the waterfront and then explore the restaurants and shops throughout Historic St. Andrews.

It’s a simple Saturday tradition that helps keep money local while supporting the growers, makers, artists and small businesses that make the Panama City community unique.
