If you’ve been looking for something different to do after dinner or a new option for date night, Coastal Comedy Krew is helping grow the live stand-up comedy scene in Panama City.

Coastal Comedy Krew is a veteran-owned comedy production company based in Bay County, Florida, bringing high-quality live comedy to venues across the Florida Panhandle. From pop-up shows in unique local spaces to private parties and corporate events, Coastal Comedy Krew creates memorable experiences by pairing talented comedians with the right audience and setting.

Founded by comedian and Air Force veteran TJ Wiseman, the company is committed to growing the local comedy scene, creating opportunities for performers, and delivering professional, well-produced entertainment that brings people together through laughter.

Thursday Open Mic at Blaze & Barrel

One of the Krew's recurring stops is Blaze & Barrel in Panama City, where Coastal Comedy Krew hosts its Thursday Open Mic.

Hosted by TJ Wiseman, the night gives established comedians and up-and-coming performers an opportunity to test material and get behind the microphone in front of a live audience.

The venue combines stand-up comedy with drinks and a casual nightlife atmosphere. Coastal Comedy Krew's listing also promotes Thursday as Ladies Night at Blaze & Barrel, with drink specials available.

Thursday Comedy Open Mic

📅 When: Thursdays

⏰ Time: 8 PM - 10 PM
📍 Where: Blaze & Barrel, 3002 US Highway 98 West, Unit B, Panama City, FL 32405
🎤 Hosted by: TJ Wiseman
🎟️ Admission: Coastal Comedy Krew with online ticket pricing shown as $6 including fees.

Guests can purchase admission online or pay at the door. Tips for the local performers are also encouraged.

The open-mic format means you never quite know who or what you’re going to hear, which is part of the fun. You could catch an experienced performer polishing a new joke followed by someone stepping onto a comedy stage for one of their first performances.

Late Night Laughs in Historic Downtown Panama City

Coastal Comedy Krew is also bringing stand-up into Historic Downtown Panama City, including its Late Night Laughs-style performances.

On Friday, August 14, 2026, Coastal Comedy Krew is performing at Grace O'Malley's Irish Tavern, "formerly House of Henry” located at 461 Harrison Avenue. The show begins at 9 p.m., with tickets listed at $15

The show is being promoted as a night featuring a lineup of professional comedians along with drinks and live entertainment. Coastal Comedy Krew also notes that seating is limited and that some previous shows have sold out.

The August 14 event is especially notable because Grace O'Malley's Irish Tavern is opening its doors for business that same Friday, with Coastal Comedy Krew helping kick off the downtown venue's entertainment lineup.

A Growing Local Comedy Scene

Live comedy has traditionally meant traveling to a dedicated comedy club or waiting for a touring comedian to come through town.

Coastal Comedy Krew is taking a different approach.

By bringing stand-up into local restaurants, bars and entertainment venues, the group is creating smaller comedy rooms around Bay County while giving local and regional performers more opportunities to get on stage.

That means audiences can experience anything from an unpredictable Thursday open mic to a more polished weekend showcase, all without leaving Panama City or Panama City Beach.

The group has also appeared at other Bay County locations, including Collective Soul, demonstrating that Coastal Comedy Krew isn't tied to just one comedy room or venue.

What Kind of Show Should You Choose?

If you're interested in discovering new comedians and brand-new material, Thursday's open mic at Blaze & Barrel is probably the place to start.

And if you prefer downtown Panama City nightlife and more produced comedy showcases, watch for Late Night Laughs and other Coastal Comedy Krew special events around Harrison Avenue and Historic Downtown.

Because comedians, venues and schedules can rotate, checking the group's current calendar before attending is recommended.

Support Local Comedy

From comedians trying new jokes at an open mic to professional performers taking over a downtown stage, Coastal Comedy Krew is giving Bay County residents another reason to get out of the house and enjoy local entertainment.

And the best part?

The lineup and the jokes can be different every week.
