Quote Of The Day

"The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today." - H. Jackson Brown Jr.

This year’s Fourth of July in Bay County comes with special meaning, as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026.

Communities across Panama City, Panama City Beach, and Lynn Haven are preparing memorable events that capture both the festive spirit and historical significance of Independence Day.

Panama City will host the Salute to Freedom Festival at the Downtown Marina, featuring live music, food vendors, and a spectacular fireworks display over St. Andrews Bay.

Panama City Beach will offer a multi-day Real. Fun. Fourth. celebration, highlighted by the Star Spangled Spectacular with fireworks from city piers and lively beach crowds.

Lynn Haven’s 250th Birthday Celebration delivers small-town charm with a patriotic parade, local music, food trucks, and fireworks at A.L. Kinsaul Park.

Each event invites residents and visitors to unite in honoring freedom, community, and the spirit of July 4th—ensuring there’s a celebration for everyone.

Hotel Indigo Panama City Marina offers a waterfront dining experience that blends stunning marina views with coastal cuisine right in the heart of downtown.

Tarpon’s, the main restaurant, serves Southern-inspired breakfasts and Gulf seafood-focused dinners in a relaxed yet refined setting overlooking St. Andrews Bay.

Standout dishes include grouper, shrimp remoulade, crab cakes, and creative breakfast classics, along with a cocktail menu that nods to local history.

Upstairs, Steam on 5 draws guests to its rooftop for sunset cocktails, craft drinks, and sharable small plates like ceviche, Gulf shrimp, and Wagyu sliders, all with panoramic bay views.

With live music and the salty air, both locals and visitors will find Hotel Indigo the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy the waterfront, and get a true taste of Panama City’s laid-back, coastal spirit.

Every summer, Panama City Beach transforms into a crucial nesting ground for sea turtles, drawing attention from locals and visitors alike.

The nonprofit Panama City Beach Turtle Watch works tirelessly to protect these ancient reptiles, patrolling the shoreline from St. Andrews State Park to Camp Helen State Park during nesting season.

Loggerheads are the most frequent nesters, with females coming ashore at night to lay roughly 100 eggs each.

Green turtles and leatherbacks also make rare appearances, crossing vast ocean distances to reach the sands.

Residents and guests are urged to keep the beach clean, dark, and flat by removing all belongings, reducing lights at night, and filling in holes.

Protecting these nesting areas not only preserves sea turtle populations but helps maintain Panama City Beach’s unique coastal ecosystem for future generations.
