May is Armed Forces Month across the United States, a time dedicated to recognizing the men and women who serve in every branch of our military. Here in Bay County, that appreciation runs deep with Tyndall Air Force Base at the heart of our community.
WonderWorks Panama City Beach is offering FREE admission for active-duty and retired military during Armed Forces Week (May 9-16), with $3 off for family and friends. Explore over 100 hands-on exhibits, laser tag, and the ropes course.
MISSION BBQ is serving free sandwiches to service members and veterans on their designated branch days from May 11-16, culminating in Lunch with the Heroes on Saturday.

The worlds most dedicated endurance athletes are descending on Panama City Beach this week for one of the most challenging tests of physical and mental strength.
The IRONMAN 70.3 Gulf Coast triathlon returns on May 9, 2026, marking the 44th year of this iconic event. Thousands of competitors from across the globe will tackle the demanding 70.3-mile course.
The Gulf Coast course is legendary in the triathlon world. Athletes begin with a 1.2-mile swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico, followed by a 56-mile bike course through Bay Countys scenic coastal highways, and finish with a 13.1-mile run along the beach.
