Play Music on the Porch Day Brings Live Music to Historic Downtown Panama City |
Stroll, Sip, Shop and Enjoy Local Musicians Throughout Downtown on Saturday, August 29 |

Historic Downtown Panama City will be filled with music on Saturday, August 29, 2026, as local businesses and musicians come together for Play Music on the Porch Day from 5 PM to 8 PM.
The evening invites residents and visitors to slow down, stroll through downtown, discover local shops and businesses, and enjoy live music popping up throughout the historic district. Rather than gathering around one large concert stage, the idea is to make downtown itself the venue, with musicians performing at participating businesses and gathering spots.
The Panama City Downtown Improvement Board lists several participating merchants, including Gallery of Art 850, Sugar Sands Beauty Bar, Halo Glow Aesthetics, Pyramid School, and Wild Root Coffee & Tea, with music and activities spread throughout downtown.
It is an easygoing event designed for exploring. Start your evening with a walk along Harrison Avenue and the surrounding streets, stop when you hear a musician who catches your attention, browse a shop you may not have visited before, grab a drink, and then continue on to the next stop.
Part of a Worldwide Celebration
Panama City’s event is part of the international Play Music on the Porch Day, which takes place Saturday, August 29 this year.
The worldwide movement began in 2014 with a simple idea: what would happen if, for one day, people stopped and listened to music? The concept quickly spread around the world, bringing together musicians regardless of musical style, culture or experience.
Today, musicians in more than 70 countries and more than 1,000 cities participate in the annual celebration. Anyone can join in simply by going outside and playing music, whether performing solo, with friends or as part of a community event. Participants are also encouraged to share their performances online using #PlayMusicOnThePorchDay.
Historic Downtown Panama City offers a perfect setting for that concept. The walkable district is filled with restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, galleries, bars and locally owned businesses, allowing visitors to make an entire evening out of the event.
Make a Night of It Downtown
One of the best parts about Play Music on the Porch Day is that there is no complicated schedule required. Come downtown anytime between 5 PM and 8 PM, walk around, listen to the music and see where the evening takes you.
After enjoying the performances, visitors can keep the night going with dinner or drinks at one of downtown Panama City's restaurants and entertainment spots.
Additional live music is also scheduled downtown later Saturday evening, including Ashley Feller at Thistle & Thorne from 7–9 PM, Jeff Bouet at Atelier & Co. from 7–10 PM, Richard & Sam at No Name Lounge & Bayside Bistro from 7–10 PM, and Fred Styx & Friends at Mosey’s Downtown beginning at 8 PM.
Bring your friends, bring the family and enjoy an evening celebrating local musicians, local businesses and the community spirit that makes Historic Downtown Panama City special.
