Historic St. Andrews is getting ready to turn its porches, patios and gathering spaces into stages for one of the neighborhood’s most unique annual music celebrations.

St. Andrews Play Music on the Porch Day returns Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. throughout Historic St. Andrews in Panama City.

Since joining the worldwide Play Music on the Porch Day movement in 2019, St. Andrews has made the final Saturday in August a celebration of local music, community and the neighborhood’s creative spirit.

Instead of one main stage, musicians perform at locations throughout St. Andrews, allowing visitors to stroll from place to place and hear a variety of local performers along the way.

And the newly released 2026 lineup shows there will be plenty of music to discover.

This year’s Play Music on the Porch Day features an impressive collection of solo artists, bands and local favorites representing the Panama City area music community.

With at least 23 performers and groups scheduled, visitors can expect a broad mix of musical styles and personalities throughout the afternoon.

Part of the fun of Porch Day is not necessarily planning to see just one act. Visitors can wander through Historic St. Andrews, stop when they hear something they like and then continue down the street to discover the next musician.

What Is Play Music on the Porch Day?

Play Music on the Porch Day is a worldwide celebration held annually on the last Saturday in August.

The concept is wonderfully simple: musicians step outside and play music while neighbors, friends and visitors gather to listen.

Events now take place in communities around the world, but Historic St. Andrews has given the idea its own distinctly local personality.

St. Andrews began participating in 2019, bringing musicians together with neighborhood businesses, restaurants, galleries and community spaces.

Over the years, the event has developed into a musical walking tour of the neighborhood rather than a traditional concert.

You might hear an acoustic singer-songwriter on one porch, blues around the corner and a completely different style of music a few minutes later.

That unpredictability is part of what makes the event special.

Floripolis Brings the Music Together

Floriopolis is at the heart of organizing the St. Andrews celebration.

The community arts organization has long supported artists and musicians while helping bring creative events to Historic St. Andrews.

The official 2026 event artwork also recognizes support from the St. Joe Community Foundation, along with The Ukes and Little Village.

Where Will the Musicians Perform?

Rather than having everyone gathered around one large stage, Play Music on the Porch Day spreads performances throughout Historic St. Andrews.

Participating neighborhood locations serve as individual music stops, allowing visitors to create their own route through the district.

The heart of the activity will be around the Beck Avenue area and surrounding streets, where restaurants, shops and gathering spaces make St. Andrews particularly easy to explore on foot.

Visitors should watch for the official Porch Day location map and performance schedule to determine exactly where each artist will be appearing.

But there is also something to be said for simply arriving, walking through St. Andrews and following the sound of the music.

Make It a Food and Music Afternoon

St. Andrews is also one of Panama City’s best neighborhoods for combining live entertainment with food and drinks.

Restaurants, bars and casual dining locations are scattered throughout the same area where Porch Day performances take place.

That makes it easy to stop for lunch before the event, grab a cold drink between performances or stay in St. Andrews for dinner afterward.

Little Village and FINNS are among the neighborhood destinations where visitors can enjoy food and drinks while soaking up the St. Andrews atmosphere.

Elsewhere along Beck Avenue and around the waterfront, visitors will find seafood, oysters, sandwiches, cocktails, beer and other options within walking distance.

Food and beverages are purchased separately from the event.

Start the Day at The Market at St. Andrews

Visitors looking to make a full Saturday out of their trip to St. Andrews can arrive early.

The Market at St. Andrews at Oaks by the Bay takes place Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

That gives you time to browse local vendors, visit neighborhood businesses and enjoy lunch before Porch Day begins at 3:00 p.m.

Then the focus shifts to music for three hours as performers take over porches and gathering spaces throughout the neighborhood.

Keep the Music Going at Little Village

There is also an excellent reason not to head home when the afternoon porch performances wind down.

Little Village, at 2808 W. 12th Street, is promoting a Play Music on the Porch Day.

Little Village has long been closely connected with St. Andrews’ music and arts scene, making it a natural place to continue the celebration after wandering the neighborhood.
