Christmas is arriving early in Historic Downtown Panama City as local shops, restaurants and bars come together for the Christmas in July Sip & Stroll on Friday, July 17.

The event will run from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., giving residents and visitors an opportunity to explore downtown while enjoying seasonal drinks, sweet treats, shopping specials and plenty of holiday atmosphere. Activities will take place throughout the historic district, centered around Harrison Avenue and the surrounding downtown streets.

Event Details

Date: Friday, July 17, 2026
Time: 4:00–7:00 p.m.
Location: Historic Downtown Panama City
Main area: Harrison Avenue and participating downtown businesses

Instead of waiting until December, downtown merchants are bringing out the decorations, Christmas music and holiday-inspired offerings in the middle of summer. Participating businesses are expected to feature a mixture of themed drinks, desserts, retail promotions and seasonal specials throughout the evening.

Visitors can make their way from business to business at their own pace, stopping for something cold to drink, browsing locally owned boutiques or finding an early Christmas gift. The event provides a relaxed way to spend a Friday evening while supporting the independent businesses that help give downtown Panama City its character.

Santa Is Coming to Downtown

Families will also have an opportunity to enjoy a little traditional Christmas magic. Sweet Mag’s Children’s Boutique, located at 456 Harrison Avenue, is scheduled to host photos with Santa during the celebration on Friday at 4:00 pm.

The Santa appearance, colorful decorations and holiday music should make the evening especially enjoyable for children. Families may want to bring a camera or phone for photos and allow enough time to visit the participating stores before the event ends at 7:00 p.m.

Sip, Stroll and Shop Local

Historic Downtown Panama City includes a designated Social District, allowing customers to purchase an approved beverage from participating restaurants or bars and carry it in an official Social District cup while walking within the permitted area.

Downtown’s Social District currently includes a wide selection of establishments, including Harrison’s Kitchen & Bar, History Class Brewing Company, House of Henry, Mosey’s, Millie’s Café, The Press, Craft Beer Empourium, Bookish Boutique, The Place Downtown and several other restaurants and gathering spots. Visitors should look for the appropriate signs showing where Social District beverages are sold and which businesses welcome them inside.

Alcoholic beverages must remain in the approved district and should only be carried in the designated cup. Guests should also drink responsibly and dispose of their cups properly.

Make It a Christmas Weekend

The Sip & Stroll begins a full weekend of midsummer holiday activities downtown. On Saturday, July 18, the Panama City Farmers Market will host its 5th Annual Christmas in July Market from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. along Harrison Avenue, from Fourth Street toward Beach Drive.

Together, the Friday evening stroll and Saturday market give visitors two opportunities to shop locally, enjoy downtown and celebrate Christmas without waiting for cooler weather.

Whether you come for Santa, seasonal refreshments, an evening with friends or a head start on holiday shopping, the Christmas in July Sip & Stroll offers a cheerful reason to spend Friday night in Historic Downtown Panama City.

Two events back to back Friday evening and Saturday morning is a solid plan. Downtown Panama City is really stepping it up.

Christmas music when it's still beach weather outside is a little surreal but honestly kind of fun.
