Historic St. Andrews transformed into a lively hub as the annual St. Andrews Mardi Gras Parade brought together families, music enthusiasts, and local vendors for a memorable weekend, thanks to the St. Andrews Mardi Gras Festival.
The festivities kicked off on Friday with the Salty Paws Pet Parade and the Kids' Krewe Parade, where children and their furry friends showcased creative costumes, setting a joyful tone for the event.
On Saturday the 2nd day the St. Andrews Mardi Gras Festival continued throughout the day, the St. Andrews Market buzzed with activity. Vendors offered an array of handmade crafts, local art, and delectable treats, reflecting the unique coastal charm of the area.
Live music filled the air at the The Dive bar, featuring performances by True Soul, the Village Brass Band, the Frank Fletcher Band, and Filmore Drive Band. Each act brought its own flavor, turning the streets into a dynamic concert venue.
The highlight of the weekend was the Main Parade led by the Krewe of St. Andrews. As the sun set, vibrant floats adorned with lights and decorations paraded down Beck Avenue. The theme, "Joie de Vivre" the joy of living, was evident as beads, doubloons and moon pies were tossed to the enthusiastic crowd.
Adding a modern twist to tradition, a mesmerizing drone show illuminated the night sky, captivating attendees and marking a first for the festival.
