Dan Rowe, President and CEO of the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau, has resigned after 18 years at the helm.

Rowe submitted his resignation to Board Chair Clair Pease, citing it as an honor to serve, and will work remotely during his transition period.

His exit follows the recent arrest of Vice President Aaron Lee for grand theft and fraud, linked to unauthorized spending nearing $1 million.

Rowe had already taken paid leave as investigations unfolded, emphasizing a need for stability within the organization.

Throughout his leadership since 2007, Rowe navigated challenges like spring break reforms, the BP oil spill, and the pandemic, shaping Panama City Beach’s tourism reputation.

Board member Yonnie Patronis is also stepping down after 20 years, signaling major change ahead for the CVB and TDC.

A special board meeting on February 2 will address these departures and financial reforms as the community calls for transparency and stronger oversight in local tourism management.
